Congratulations to Year 11 on a stunning set of GCSE results. 24% grade 9s and 45% A*/8/9.
A quarter of the year group achieved more than 8 A*/8/9 grades and over half the cohort achieved in excess of 8 A*/As (7-9).
After last week’s fabulous A level results there were more stunning results in Scence and Mathematics reflecting the school’s 2018 award for ‘Best STEM provision in a UK School.’ There were an extraordinary 44% Grade 9s in Biology, 38% in Chemistry, 32% Physics and 24% in Maths. 66% of Biology and Chemistry results were 8s and 9s. There were also impressive results in a broad range of subjects with 53% of Latin and 38% Geography entries awarded the Grade 9 ‘Super A*’ and 67% of History entries awarded A*s.
Particular congratulations to the 16 girls who achieved 9 or more A*/8/9s. Achieving 10 A*/9/8 Tolu Akinsiwaju, Sophia Bardon-Davis, Georgia Chiswick, Grace Equi, Megan Fox, Imogen Gush and Emily Warburton.
Nilofar Davis and Sophia Short both achieved an amazing 11 A*/9/8 and this year’s top performer Micol Febles achieved 12 A*/9/8. Nilofar and Imogen were two of the small number of students across the UK to achieve a sweep of 8 Grade 9s alongside their A*s whilst Micol achieved an astonishing 9 Grade 9s.
