Yesterday, we were delighted to host the GDST Southern Regional Festival of Dance and Sport, welcoming pupils from eight other schools across the Trust who competed in hockey, netball and dance.

Bromley High School pupils showcased exceptional hockey prowess, clinching a commendable third place by winning two matches and drawing two out of five. The players exhibited unwavering determination, playing with intensity and showcasing outstanding teamwork throughout the competition.

Eight Year 9 pupils at Bromley High School immersed themselves in dance, participating in workshops spanning Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Jazz. External dance artists, along with A level Dance pupils Ella, Lily, and Melody, guided them through the intricacies of each style. Fueled by newfound knowledge, the students crafted their unique choreographies, drawing inspiration from the workshops. In a collaborative sharing session, all participants showcased their creations.

Special commendation goes to the A level dancers for their exceptional leadership in the jazz workshops, contributing to the overall success and vibrancy of the dance experience.

Despite facing challenging opponents, the netball team persevered to win several matches, drawing motivation from their initial victories and gaining valuable experience that they plan to carry forward into future tournaments, resulting in the A team achieving a commendable second place whilst the B team came top of the table.

“It was a really fun experience, we loved meeting people from other GDST schools and making new friends.”
