Year 3 pupils enthusiastically embraced the essence of Ancient Rome during our captivating Roman Day last week.
Our Junior School hall transformed into a lively Roman fort, offering girls immersive, hands-on experiences including crafting mosaic tiles, leather bags, and designing necklaces, perfumes, and wax tablets. The festivities culminated in a grand Roman feast, featuring entertaining performances such as dance, drama, and a demonstration of skills by Roman soldiers.
This special day not only provided a fabulous finish to celebrate the girls’ dedicated efforts and achievements in learning throughout the term but also created lasting memories of a vibrant journey through the rich history of Ancient Rome.
“I really enjoyed Roman Day. I liked doing all the activities as we all got to take part in them and they were great fun too. I especially loved the singing. It was epic!” Ella, Year 3
“Roman Day was a really special day. I had been waiting for it since the Autumn Term! I wore an empress dress as it had a purple sash. I learned more about Latin and how the Romans wrote using wax tablets and papyrus and ink and I also learned about their ideas of decorating their houses using frescos and mosaics. I wish we could have Roman Day again!” Divija, Year 3
