This November, our pupils celebrated Anti-Bullying Week, raising awareness of bullying in young people. The theme this year was Make A Noise About Bullying, to empower children to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
To kick-start the week, pupils wore odd socks, emphasising our individual uniqueness and promoting kindness, mutual respect, and an appreciation for each other’s distinctiveness.
Fostering a culture of kindness, pupils took a stand against bullying by purchasing Freddo chocolates for friends and sharing uplifting messages.
The funds collected supported the Anti-Bullying Alliance charity, uniting organisations and individuals to create safe environments where children can express themselves without the fear of bullying, promoting empathy and understanding.
Pupils made some very positive noise during the open mic session on Friday, creating a happy and supportive environment in the school dining hall.
Pupils also spent form time this week learning about how to support the school in creating an anti-bullying culture, how to be an upstander and reviewing the school’s Anti-Bullying Policy.
