During the half term break, a group of Year 10 and 11 students embarked on an enriching journey to Valencia, Spain, immersing themselves in the vibrant language and culture of the beautiful city.

Over the course of five days, they delved into a world of discovery and adventure. Their itinerary was a tapestry of experiences, beginning with a visit to the Science Museum, where they marveled at the wonders of technology and innovation. The grandeur of the Cathedral left them awe-struck, and the Bioparc provided an opportunity to witness the diverse wildlife of this region up close.

One of the highlights of the trip was a boat excursion in Albufera, the area renowned for producing the rice used in Spain’s iconic dish, Paella. Here, the students not only enjoyed the serene boat trip but also learned about the history and significance of Paella in Spanish cuisine.

To enhance their language skills, the students also had a morning of Spanish lessons at a local school, which allowed them to interact with native speakers and further immerse themselves in the language.

Beyond the planned activities, the girls explored the town, practiced their Spanish while shopping, and visited captivating locations, making the most of this cultural exchange. It was an unforgettable experience that broadened their horizons and deepened their appreciation for the rich tapestry of Spanish culture.
