16+ Sports Scholarships

Eligibility

• You must apply online for this scholarship by Monday 14th October 2024.
• An accompanying letter should be included with the application that supports the pupil’s suitability for the scholarship.  We will not accept an application without an accompanying letter
• A written recommendation should also be submitted by a PE coach, a PE teacher or a classroom teacher to support the pupil’s suitability for scholarship.
• Full participation in school teams and representation of Bromley High School at a County Tournament level
• If your chosen sport is not one you are able to represent school in, then participation at a National or Regional level would be favourably considered
• Potential equipment support at the schools discretion

Selection process

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a sports assessment on w/c 11th November 2024.

• Acting as a sports leader through captain roles and taking on specific responsibilities on match days

• Invitations to seminars, talks and masterclasses sessions
• Mentoring from PE specialists
• Scholar society programme: each half-term, scholars will come together for a workshop and discussion targeted at university of career preparation
• Scholar society open mic: each term, scholars will be invited to present at an informal event for parents, teachers and special guests from different areas of scholarship and the workplace on an area of interest or performance depending on scholarship area.
