Every term, Bromley High School hosts a Wellbeing Week as part of our school’s commitment to nurturing a positive impact on pupil wellbeing. This term’s theme was ‘Move More’ Week, a celebration of how moving more to school is good for the mind, body and planet.

Active travel to school offers numerous benefits for our community; it helps keeps parents and children fit and healthy as well as reducing the amount of traffic and pollution on the school site. Before this week, 78% of Junior school students and 54% of Senior School students came in by car. This week there was a noticeable decrease in cars on the school site and all classes had students choosing to come into school actively.

Not only did students actively travel to school there were lots of fun activities encouraging staff and students to move more in the school day. We had flashmob dancing at the Junior School, walking-buses from either end of Blackbrook Lane, eco-banner making, dancing classes, collaborative Junior and Senior School Jungle drawings, funky footwear Friday and healthy energy snacks for all.

Thank you to all those staff, children and parents for taking part in the week! We will have another Move More day next term, so watch this space!
