Scholarships are awarded as a fixed percentage reduction in fees, usually between 5 and 20%, are awarded for the full seven years of the Senior School from Year 7 to Year 13 and reviewed annually.

Eligibility

  • You must apply online for this scholarship
  • All pupils who successfully pass the 11+ Entrance Examination are eligible
  • An accompanying portfolio should be included with the application that supports the pupil’s suitability for the scholarship. The portfolio should be a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 20 slides and should include examples of drawings as well as other artwork using other materials or techniques. We will not accept an application without an accompanying portfolio.

Selection process

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after the Entrance Examination.

Pupils who have been shortlisted will be invited to attend an art assessment the week commencing 20th January 2025. The assessment is a 40 minute drawing task, followed by an informal five minute discussion responding to the work of an artist.

  • Scholar society programme: each half-term, scholars will come together for a workshop and discussion targeted at university of career preparation
  • Mentoring from specialist staff: 1:1 mentoring from specialist member of staff about academic progress and recommendations on how to wider learning
  • Scholar society open mic: each term, scholars will be invited to present at an informal event for parents, teachers and special guests from different areas of scholarship and the workplace on an area of interest or performance depending on scholarship area.

  • Interest in art, artists, craftspeople and the world around them
  • Demonstrate commitment to art as a
    co-curricular pursuit
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment to excel in art
  • Behave in such a manner as to be a role model to their peers 
  • Be able to work collaboratively with others
  • Be able to promote the department throughout the whole school community  and beyond.
Desirable:

  • Be able to assist with the running of activities alongside the Head of Art and Photography 
  • Interest in diversity within the contemporary Art world 
  • Demonstrate a wider interest in art as a subject
  • Demonstrate confidence when dealing with others
  • Manage a range of tasks within a drama framework including efficient use of time.
