At Bromley High School we encourage pupils to be kind, not only to others, but to themselves. Self-care is integral to mental health and wellbeing. As part of our drive to improve the positive impact on pupil wellbeing we have introduced Wellbeing Week, which take place each half-term.
To mark His Majesty the King’s Coronation, pupils had the opportunity to engage in a number of fun activities to celebrate and connect during form time and the lunch hour, including making a bug hotel, Coronation pom-poms, and taking part in an Open Mic event, which really emphasised a heart-warming sense of belonging. The Junior School girls enjoyed a Coronation watercolour workshop, bunting and flag making, Coronation flower and pom-pom making, a Royal Festival of Singing, culminating in an outdoor Coronation party with delicious traditional scones and jam.
This week, pupils were encouraged to take part in ‘The Big Help Out‘ campaign to showcase how volunteering benefits both communities and the people who take part. We are so proud of our pupils, who are grounded and celebrate acts of kindness across the school. From checking in on someone who would like a bit of company to volunteering for a charity, the more of us who join in, the bigger the help will be.
