Upper Sixth pupil and Childnet Digital Champion Aimee had the exciting opportunity of discussing online violence with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the UN.

As a Childnet Digital Champion, Aimee is one of eight students from across the UK, who speak to companies and people in power to advocate for change towards making the internet a safer place.

Aimee co-moderated a call between the many youth representatives across Europe and Dr Najat Maala M’jid, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children.

During the call, they discussed the role of the UN, governments, children and broader communities in addressing violence online

“I learned so much from participating in this event, from the way the UN approaches issues with conflicting legislation between borders such as internet regulation, to the shared and differing experiences and perspectives of my fellow youth online safety advocates around the world on the online issues that affect us all.”Aimee, Year 13 pupil
