At Bromley High School we encourage pupils to be kind, not only to others, but to themselves. Self-care is integral to mental health and wellbeing. As part of our drive to improve the positive impact on pupil wellbeing we have introduced Wellbeing Week, which will take place each half-term.

Our fourth Wellbeing Week ‘Belonging’, focused on celebrating the girls’ cultural heritage.

Our Diversity Committee organised a range of engaging activities to celebrate diversity and inclusion at Bromley High School.

On Monday morning, there was a lively and colourful assembly including a catwalk where students modelled outfits from various countries. These included Nigeria, Vietnam, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Britain, France, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Iran, Zimbabwe and South Africa. It was an uplifting and joyous event.

At lunch time, staff and students got to sample tropical fruits and students played Flingo (flag bingo).

Tuesday was also a busy day. There was a Traditional South Indian dance workshop; henna painting; learning twenty languages and also Collaborative South African printmaking with the Art Department.

On Wednesday, students enjoyed more henna painting, Olive Morris Society and Chinese calligraphy.

In the Junior School, pupils enjoyed a Chinese calligraphy workshop, Irish and Indian dancing, African and Samba drumming and a cultural Art workshop.

It has been a busy week of celebrating!
