Parents were delighted to attend the Junior School production of The Lion King earlier this month, with Year 4 pupils performing on stage and Year 3 pupils singing.

Set in a kingdom of lions in Africa, The Lion King tells the story of Simba (Ria), a lion cub who is to succeed his father, Mufasa (Carla), as King of the Pride Lands; however, after his paternal uncle Scar (Arden) kills Mufasa to seize the throne, Simba is tricked into believing he was responsible for his father’s death and flees into exile.

After growing up in the company of the carefree outcasts Timon and Pumbaa (Sophie and Florence), Simba (Isabella-Grace) receives valuable perspective from his childhood friend, Nala (Isabella and Arya) and his shaman, Rafiki (Tinuola), before returning to challenge Scar to end his tyranny and take his place in the Circle of Life as the rightful king.

A special thanks to all our Year 4 performers and our Year 3 choir who worked extremely hard in supporting with the songs.
