Year 10 pupils Nuriah and Alyssa, Year 11 pupil Ellie and Year 13 pupil Hannah had a hugely successful weekend of athletics, winning gold and silver medals in their regional competitions.

All four runners won gold and silver medals at the Kent County Athletic Association Indoor Track & Field Championships (in conjunction with Hertfordshire & Middlesex) at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in London.

Nuriah finished first in the 60m event and gained a new personal best of 7.80 seconds. Alyssa added the Kent 400 meter to her 300m South of England title to round out a hugely successful indoor season and Hannah won the Women’s Under 20 1,500m title. Ellie won the silver medal for the Triple Jump.

Hannah was once again selected by Kent to represent the girls’ team at the English Schools Athletic Association Cross Country Championships as the overall Team Captain. It is an extremely rare occurrence to be selected as Team Captain twice so it was a great achievement for Hannah on her last participation at this event.

In the Senior Women’s event, Hannah was the first Kent runner out of the team’s eight representatives to reach the finish line and her overall position was 30th out of a field of 300 runners.

The event was represented by 46 different counties around the UK and in the Senior Women’s event, Kent finished in 1st place overall for their eight runners finishing with the lowest total number by position.

Congratulations to all!
