Last week, Sixth Formers had the fantastic opportunity to visit the University of Oxford and get an insight into what life is like as an Oxford undergraduate.

Throughout the day, the pupils were presented with a variety of opportunities to see all aspects of the university. They visited Magdalen College and Wadham College and also had lunch with Ellen Millwood, a Bromley High School alumna, who is now studying Spanish at St. Anne’s College. Meeting Ellen really allowed the girls to get an opinion from a student perspective and answer any questions they had.

Throughout their visit, the pupils were struck by the exceptional opportunities that are on offer to all Oxford students, such as the Oxford Union, which is where famous speakers are invited to debate and raise important issues. Pupils were excited to hear that, a couple of weeks before their visit, President Zelenskyy from the Ukraine had spoken to at the Oxford Union.

“I was very interested to hear about all the extra-curricular opportunities available and that, as long as you are organised, the workload is manageable. Ellen certainly seemed to be having an exciting and rewarding time! The whole experience was a once-in-a-life-time opportunity and I feel as though we all came away with a better understanding of Oxford life.”Charlotte, Year 12 pupil
