This fortnight, our WoW pieces celebrate diversity and creativity in our International Women’s Day display and some brilliant Year 9 lino prints.
The Art and Photography department had a rolling exhibition of more than 300 International Women’s Day postcards submitted. The eclectic mix of women chosen are a real reflection of our diversity community and interests; we have Beyonce next to Jane Austen! We’ve really enjoyed reading the back of the postcards too, with persuasive arguments about why their creative woman deserves to be celebrated.
Our Year 9 pupils have been making linos of people they feel deserve a monument, which they’re then going to add as a decal to their monument ceramics. Again, this is a diverse collection of people, from Rosa Parks, the Goddess Artemis, and a well-loved Grandad.
