A new rivalry was put to its test this week as the school’s intraschool hockey tournament kicked off, with the Year 7 hockey teams challenging the Year 8.

Year 7A team came out with lightning intensity and scored an early goal in the first half.  Year 8A team dug deep and held off further attempts before finding their form and scoring 3. The Year 8B team were fielding a brand new goalie, who showed excellent resilience against an attacking Year 7B team, but the Year 7 players proved too strong and put away two goals in the first half. The Year 8B team managed to keep the Year 7 players at bay for the second half, responding to the tactics played against them.

Particular congratulations go to the players of the matches: Kara and Maisie in Year 7, and Rosie and Heidi in Year 8. The evening was a huge success, with all four teams learning from their game play and enjoying their post match teas!

We are looking forward to seeing how the next round of intraschool games pan out, with Year 10 playing against Year 11.
