During half term, 23 Business & Economics students travelled to Barcelona for four days of tours which encompassed a whole host of business sectors.

Students had the opportunity to visit Barcelona’s Nou Camp football stadium as well as Generator, a London based youth hostel, which has expanded into the European and global market and the Estrella brewery, where the UK is its largest export market.

“The self-guided tour at Barcelona’s Nou Camp stadium was a unique experience. We enjoyed seeing their immense trophy collection and behind the scenes, such as the press conferences areas.” Jess, Rita, Srinithi & Anjana, Year 13 Business & Economics students

In addition, the group enjoyed some cultural sights such as the La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s famous church and the contemporary art museum Moco, located in heart of the Gothic Quarter in the city.

On their first evening in Barcelona, the group dined out at The Hard Rock café. The following evening, they watched a flamenco show, where they observed the passion the dancers displayed in their performance. On their final night, the students ate regional food in one of Barcelona’s popular café style restaurants.

Overall, the Business & Economics students had an excellent trip learning about the specialist industries which support Barcelona’s regional economy and experienced the cultural and social differences from spending time in this busy and vibrant city.

“This trip was an immersive cultural experience, whilst learning about business and economics concepts in practice.”Min, Year 12 Business & Economics student
