Eleven Bromley High School Sports Scholars from Years 7 to 12 travelled to Sutton High School to join other scholars from schools across the GDST.
The day was organised in conjunction with Mintridge Ambassadors; The Mintridge Foundation is a registered charity dedicated to enhancing life skills in young people through sport. They provide a support network for young people by harnessing the power of positive sporting role models.
Scholars had the opportunity to attend an inspirational speech from Commonwealth Netball Gold medalist Eboni Usoro-Brown. After hearing about Eboni’s incredible journey to Commonwealth Gold along with her many triumphs on and off the court, it was time for our sports scholars to put their bodies and minds to the test in an array of sporting workshops. The workshops were led by a number of elite and international athletes such as:
Bromley High School Sports Scholars were able to take part in three different workshops including masterclasses in hockey, netball, swimming and cricket as well as self defence, female athlete health, strength and conditioning, neurodiversity in sport, managing stress and media and sports journalism. This was followed by a Q&A session with the athletes.
The day was filled with plenty of opportunities for our sports scholars to engage and learn from an array of incredible sporting athletes to set them along their own path of sporting success.
