This term our Junior swim squads have competed in both the Bromley Youth Games and the Sydenham High School swimming gala.
Last week nine girls from the Junior swim squad attended the Bromley Youth Games swim gala held at Beckenham Spa. The girls competed in individual races and team relays throughout the afternoon, earning points for their team from their finishing positions in each race.
The squad achieved some excellent results; the front crawl relay team won their event, the alternate relay team finished second place, and the squadron front crawl relay (eight swimmers) also took the win against all the other schools on the day.
The girls accumulated many points throughout the afternoon and finished the competition in second place overall. A wonderful achievement and valuable competitive experience. Well done to Abigail, Ellie, Ayssa, Shivya, Dora, Anika, Sophia, Holly and Helen.
In the same week, our Junior swim squad joined the Senior School under 12 squad in hosting Sydenham High School in a swimming gala.
Despite competing in this older age category, the Junior girls did themselves very proud. They competed in the 25m and 50m events and won the event with a tremendous points difference (190 points for Bromley High School and 101 points for Sydenham High School).
Congratulations to Alice, Clara, Arabella, Isabelle, Beatrix, Beatrice, Sophia and Lucy.
