Last week, our Year 7 pupils took part in the annual PGL trip to Windmill Hill in the beautiful Sussex Downs, for a fun-packed three days of team building activities.
The girls participated in a variety of fun activities including: orienteering, zip line, giant swing, abseiling, rock climbing, trapeze, sensory trail, and archery. All the activities promoted teamwork, interpersonal communication and using initiative.
Year 7 pupil Anvesha said, “My favorite activities were Jacob’s Ladder, the sensory trail and the giant swing. Jacob’s Ladder was a giant ladder with rungs that got further and further apart. The aim was to get as high as you could with your two partners. The sensory trail was a trail in the woodlands that we had to go through while blindfolded, there were lots of different obstacles that were in the trail such as tires, ropes and mazes. We had to rely on each other and listen to what our peers were saying to understand and prepare for what was coming. The giant swing was, unsurprisingly, a giant swing! Our group had to pull a long rope that hoisted the people who were on the swing to their desired height, then the people on the swing had to pull a small rope behind them to set them off.”
“Overall PGL was a fun and memorable experience which succeeded in its goal to bring Year 7 closer together.”Anvesha, Year 7
